The United States of America

The USA is a country located in North America . Its official name is the United States of America . The country has a population of over 325 million, making it the third most populous in the world. There is no official language but the national language is English. The capital is Washington, D.C. and the largest city in the country is New York City . Other major metropolitan areas include Los Angeles , Chicago , Dallas , San Francisco , Boston , Philadelphia , Houston , Atlanta and Miami . There are 58 national parks and hundreds of other federally managed parks, forests and wilderness areas. The country’s flag features 13 red and white stripes to represent the original colonies, with 50 white stars on a blue background that represent the country’s 50 states .
